My own research primarily involves quantitative analysis using large-scale datasets (e.g., health insurance claims, specific health checkup data, and financial data).
However, I encourage each student to formulate their own research question based on their individual interests and concerns. Based on that question, they are expected to consider appropriate data sources and research methods.
Depending on the topic and methodology, I may invite experts as advisers both within and outside SHI.
The seminar is held online once a week, usually on weekday evenings that work for both the student and myself. Individual meetings are arranged as needed.
